I’m just sitting here reading this like OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OHMYGOD.
I think postpartum stories are the most sacred and most suppressed because we Black women are at our most vulnerable in that time and there’s this shroud telling us to keep it a secret. I’m so grateful that you are sharing yours. I need some time to process this before going to part 2.
Shondra, I'm not a mother, and so I entered this with low expectations, but here I am wanting to know WHAT THE HECK HAPPENS NEXT. I agree with the other comments, perfectly written and engrossing. xo
Ah sis!! This was amazing to read, I’m sorry this happened to you but I’m so grateful you’re in a place that you can share it now. The way your words flow so effortlessly allowing us as the reader to get captured in your words is artistic! You write your story in a script from a broadway show. I look forward to the next part you share!!!
Oh, that’s sweet, Tamsin. Thanks for reading and/or listening. It was a shit time in our lives, and we are good (the husband is not around anymore) Just me and my boy, and we’re ok :) !
Wow. I'm so sorry this happened to you, but heartwarming to hear there were people looking out for oyu.
Thanks, Sarah!
