I FEEL THIS.

I’ve been working on my missed chances poem for a week now, and it’s weird how achy it makes me feel when I think about that weekend of missing, wishing, trying, and coming up empty.

We never get the chance, here — and I wasn’t asleep but watching a movie with my family, have been off socials and news, and our phones were up for the night… all intentioned choices to be present and (except for the movie) unplugged. Had we not made those choices — we likely would’ve known and seen it.

Ironic, really.

Thanks for reading, Kristine. I have no reason for missing it. I have the app and the location. Still, we play cat and mouse, but...I love my bed!

This is quite good. I like how it is brought to an end. One thing would remedy the other. Good read!

I feel like there’s a deep metaphor here and I love it ❤️

I was also asleep 😅 I thought about not being asleep on the second night but honestly, I just couldn’t not go to bed at 9pm

I love this Shondra! From one aurora missed to another 👌👌 I stayed up the second night until 1am and it wasn’t visible 😆. Beautiful words and reading of them ❤️

Thanks, Tamsin. Every time the Aurora is visible in Scotland, I'm asleep! I'm so annoyed! I totally forgot to record a reading of this piece which I was looking forward to doing!

We saw it for the first time here in Yorkshire, and it was visible by eye and amazing. Add the recording on.

Also if you download the aurora watch app you can get a heads up, we watched from about 11:45 - 12:15, by which point I was frozen and tired.

Thanks, I have the Aurora watch app, but I physically can't stay awake past 11pm. We get several sightings throughout the year up here in Edinburgh, but I never get to see it. I will record a bit later today when I'm at home.❤️
