Just had a madeleine moment!

The bottle planted me back in the kitchen of the family home. Spending an afternoon baking with mum; she using the rolling pin and me using a clean, empty milk bottle whose contents would earlier have been quickly devoured. Baking was a form of meditation for her — she baked often.

I can say my mother taught me but I can also say I did not learn well because my baking was never as good as hers. Thank you, Shondra!

Thanks! Ora was my grandmother, and my mom can't bake AT ALL. I am not as good at it as my grandmother. No one is.
